Standard Logo Sizing & Placement

Exclusion zone

Keep clear space equal to at least half the logo's own height on every side. No text, graphics, or other logos should enter that zone.

Minimum print size

Never print the horizontal logo smaller than 0.625″ tall, or the vertical logo smaller than 1.25″ tall.

Minimum digital size

Keep digital placements at least 100 × 134 pixels so the wordmark and tagline stay legible.

Which version to use

Default to the primary horizontal, two-color logo. Use the reversed version on AHG Blue or other dark backgrounds. One-color or black only when full color isn't available.

Don't:

  • Stretch, skew, or squish the logo
  • Change the logo's colors
  • Change the logo's font
  • Remove the “Faith | Service | Fun” tagline (except where it's illegibly small, e.g. embroidery)
  • Use the circle graphic without the wordmark, or the wordmark without the circle
  • Use any AHG logo on for-sale merchandise outside the AHGstore

What Troops Can & Can't Create with the Logo

The AHG logo and the words “American Heritage Girls” are a registered trademark, licensed for specific uses only. Here's a quick reference checklist to answer the question
"Can we use the logo on..."

✓ Allowed

  • Internal Troop correspondence (flyers, newsletters, etc.)
  • Printed materials promoting the Troop (flyers, brochures, letterhead, business cards); include the Troop's identifier
  • Websites promoting your Troop
  • Use that's ethical and consistent with the AHG Oath, Creed, and Statement of Faith

✗ Not allowed

  • On any product, apparel, or gift item — those go through the AHGstore only
  • On anything sold outside the AHGstore
  • Altered in any way: stretched, skewed, squished, recolored, or reset in a different font
  • Alongside goods/services that could diminish AHG's goodwill, or that are obscene, sexual, violent, or unlawful

A Note on Logo Color Variation

The American Heritage Girls (AHG) logo is a vital element of our brand identity and must be used consistently to maintain its integrity and protect our trademark. However, minimal color variations* may be made to the AHG logo under the following strict conditions

*Definition of Color Variation: A color variation refers to a temporary adjustment to the standard  AHG logo design, intended to convey a particular message, align  with a specific theme, or enhance the appeal and “sellability” of AHG-branded fashion and apparel sold exclusively by AHG, Inc. in the AHGstore. These variations are not permanent changes to the logo.

Limited Application: Color variations are restricted to select merchandise/apparel sold through the AHGstore where using the original logo (including Red, White and Blue, or Blue, White, and Black iterations) is not aesthetically preferred or logistically possible. Color variations are never permissible for use in other contexts, including staff or volunteer-created resources, graphics, or materials.

Approval Process: All color variations must be designed and approved solely by AHG's Marketing & Communications Department for use on items solely available for purchase in the AHGstore. These adjustments will be used sparingly and reserved for special circumstances or product lines.
